Presentation
Born under the double sign of musical poetry and the meeting of worlds, Luna Silva is a child of the ball. Her parents met and conceived her while they were students at the Fratellini circus school: he, a Spaniard, an acrobat and clown, and she, an Englishwoman with a talent for comedy. They became professionals, the family grew and they all followed the international adventures of the circus tents that housed their prowess.
In Reunion Island with Circo Raluy, a clown and former opera singer encourages Luna to sing. In the United States, on board the train of the biggest circus in the world, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, her father puts a ukulele in her hands which opens the way to composition. Moving from car to car, the stimulating cultures of international artists: Chinese jugglers, Cossack riders or Cuban acrobats inspired his first songs.
Circus adventures were followed by Parisian bohemian life. The family home opens its doors to visiting artists and Kurdish refugees. As a teenager, Luna, after the piano and guitar lessons of her childhood, studied vocal jazz and sang in duet with a friend in the streets or on the square of Notre Dame.
Alban Moraud, sound engineer of the music section of the bilingual high school she attended, suggested she produce her first album. The project is punctuated by rich musical and cosmopolitan experiences. In Europe, Luna took part in a programme to exchange traditions between musicians. In India, she sang with a musician from Rajasthan or in a choir in Burkina Faso. In London, she is studying ethnomusicology.
In 2019, eight years after the start of its production, After The Rain is released. It includes recordings made over the course of almost a decade and more recent songs accompanied by the band she has just put together.
The Wonders is made up of Cuban guitarist/player Maxime Barcelona, percussionist/vocalist/guitarist Anissa Nehari and bassist Yann-Lou Bertrand. A team of enthusiasts, lovers of the show who offer their sharp talents and facetious personalities of accomplished acrobats without counting the cost. For the moving singer, the stage is the scene of a happy celebration, which she prepares with care. On the floor, a carpet lovingly woven in a distant land, above it, joyful garlands, she advances, dressed in a brightly coloured dress, a flower planted in her hair in a ceremonial gesture preceding the generous sharing of her songs with a thousand pigments.

Ses parents se sont rencontrés et l’ont conçu alors qu’ils étaient élèves de l’école circassienne Fratellini : lui, Espagnol acrobate et clown, elle, Anglaise et douée pour la comédie. Ils deviennent professionnels, la famille s’agrandit et tous suivent les péripéties internationales des chapiteaux qui abritent leurs prouesses.
À La Réunion avec le Circo Raluy, un clown, ancien chanteur lyrique encourage Luna vers le chant. Aux Etats-Unis, embarquée dans le train du plus grand cirque du monde le Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, son père lui met un ukulélé entre les mains qui lui ouvre la voie de la composition. Circulant de wagon en wagon, les stimulantes cultures des artistes internationaux : jongleurs chinois, cavaliers cosaques ou acrobates cubains lui inspirent ses premières chansons.
Aux aventures circassiennes suit la vie de bohème parisienne. La maison familiale ouvre sa porte aux artistes de passages comme aux réfugiés kurdes. Adolescente, Luna, après les cours de piano et de guitare de son enfance, étudie le jazz vocal et chante en duo avec une amie dans les rues ou sur le parvis de Notre Dame.

The Wonders se compose du guitariste et joueur de très cubain Maxime Barcelona, de la percussionniste chanteuse et guitariste Anissa Nehari et du contrebassiste Yann-Lou Bertrand. Une équipe de passionnés, amoureux du spectacle qui offrent sans compter leurs talents acérés et leurs personnalités facétieuses de saltimbanques accomplis. Pour la chanteuse émouvante, la scène est le théâtre d’une célébration heureuse, qu’elle prépare avec soin. Au sol, un tapis amoureusement tissé dans une contrée lointaine, au dessus, de joyeuses guirlandes, elle avance, vêtue d’une robe aux couleurs éclatante, une fleur plantée dans les cheveux en un geste cérémonial précédant le partage généreux de ses chants aux milles pigments.
