Cette artiste béninoise née à Pointe-Noire, au Congo, grandit entre trois langues, le français, le fon parlé à la maison et le lingala, langue congolaise qu’elle utilise dans sa musique. Arrivée en France à l’âge de dix ans, elle rejoint le collectif bordelais Aspo, un groupe entre rock steady et ska jazz avant de renouer avec ses racines africaines et de chanter en différentes langues africaines, fon, lingala, wolof, malgache, une volonté militante de faire découvrir la diversité musicale de l’Afrique. En 2005, elle monte un spectacle faisant dialoguer le corps voix et la musique, l’Afrique et l’Occident. En 2011, elle signe un premier album Awada Kpè Kpè, adaptation sonore du spectacle chorégraphié La Chrysalide puis en 2012, crée Biface, un duo épuré guitare/voix aux accents afro-blues. Elle s’apprête à sortir en novembre 2019 l’album Motema (« Goutte d’eau » en lingala) accompagnée du violoncelliste Valentin Mussou, du guitariste malgache Rija Randrianivosoa (qui accompagne le Trio Joubran) et du percussionniste macédonien Ersoj Kazimov (musicien du Taraf de Haïdouks).

Born in Pointe-Noire, Congo, this Beninese artist grew up between three languages, French, the fon spoken at home and Lingala, a Congolese language that she uses in her music and especially in her upcoming album, Motema. Arrived in France at the age of ten, she joined the Bordeaux collective Aspo, a group playing steady rock and ska jazz and then decided to reconnect with her African roots and to sing in various African languages, fon, lingala, wolof, Malagasy, an activist will to showcase the musical diversity of Africa. In 2005, she set up a show, a dialogue between the body voice and the music, Africa and the Western world. In 2011, she released her first album Awada Kpè Kpè, a musical adaptation of La Chrysalide, a dance show. In 2012, she set up Biface, a refined afro-blues guitar/voice duet. She is preparing to release in November 2019 Motema (« drop of water » in lingala). She is accompanied by cellist Valentin Mussou, Malagasy guitarist Rija Randrianivosoa (who accompanies the Trio Joubran) and Macedonian percussionist Ersoj Kazimov (musician of the Taraf of Haïdouks).
